First of all, I brush my Pom’s tail with a soft pin brush to remove any tangles or mats. You should brush in the hair growth direction.  Use dematting tools for stubborn matts and carefully remove them. Use a scissor to trim the tail’s hair, carefully cut the hair to prevent the skin.
